Comparativos/Superlativos

This is the handout I gave you in class.

Use this to study.

	Adjetivos 1 sílaba Adjetivos de 2 sílabas que terminen en –y,    -le, -er, -ow	Adjetivos de 2 o más sílabas
Comparativo	-er (than)	more +adj+(than)
Superlativo	(the)-est	(the) most + adj

Particularidades

1.     Si el adjetivo termina en una –e, se añade –r o –st.

wide   wider widest

2.    Si termina en consonante vocal consonante. La consonante final se duplica y se añade –er o –est.

big     bigger         biggest

3.    Si acaba en consonante + y, la y se transforma en i y se añade –er/est.

Comparativo Igualdad                     

(not) as + adj + as (tan como)

Comparativo/Superlativo de Inferioridad

less + adj + than (menos … que)

                          Your car is less fast than my car.

the least + adj (el menos …)

                     It is the least expensive.
